Common questions about session recording.

What does the session recording capture?
Session recording captures three streams simultaneously: screen sharing (participants' interactions with the product), microphone audio (think-aloud commentary and responses), and camera (facial expressions and body language). All three are synced into a single playback view.
Is participant consent handled automatically?
Yes. Before any recording starts, participants see a clear consent screen explaining what will be captured. They must explicitly grant permissions for screen sharing, microphone, and camera. If they decline any permission, that stream is not recorded. All consent is logged with timestamps.
How does auto-transcription work?
Once a session is recorded, our AI automatically transcribes the entire audio track. Transcripts are timestamped so you can click any line to jump to that exact moment in the recording. Speaker labels distinguish between the moderator and participant in interview sessions.

Each session shows duration, number of screens visited, total clicks, misclick rate, task success/failure, and time per task. For unmoderated studies, you also get per-block analytics like drop-off rate, average completion time, and success rate.
Can I export transcripts and recordings?
Yes. Transcripts can be exported as text files. Recordings can be downloaded for offline review. Highlights and tagged moments can be exported as clips. All data is available from the session detail view.
